Miss Susie Carlton a young lady age 19, died at the home of her mother in Oakland Saturday morning. Funeral services were conducted by Dr. Mc Cabe at 5 O’clock Sunday afternoon. Miss Carlton was beloved by all who know her and her funeral was attended by many sorrowing friends. She was the only daughter of a widowed mother.

I. with the hope of benefiting Mrs. Brigham’s health. Mr. Brigham and son Edward of Boston, Mass. Left with the remains yesterday for their old home. Mr. Brigham has been well and favorably know here in business circles for a number of years and has the deepest sympathy of his many friends in his sad bereavement.

John Andrew "Andy" Segelquist, 84, Topeka, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at a Topeka hospital.Mr. Segelquist worked at Seymour Foods for many years before he retired in 1976. He was born May 21, 1914, at Scranton, the son of John and Anna Anderson Segelquist. He moved to Topeka from Scranton in 1949. Mr. Segelquist was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Scranton and she attended Oakland Christian Church in Topeka. She married Betty J. Bennett on March 28, 1945, at Scranton. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Sally Ann Piepho, Derby, and Karla Sue Horkman, Kansas City, Kan.; two sons, Dennis Joe Segelquist and Michael Lee Segelquist, both of Topeka; two sisters, Hattie Fortune and Anna Marie Shepard, both of Scranton; a brother, Oscar Joseph Segelquist, Scranton; six grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren. DERBY, Kansas, Piepho, Francis "Frank", 69, died Saturday, October 17, 2009. He retired as a MSGT from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. He also retired as custodian for USD 260 after 20 years of service. Frank is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors: Sally, his wife of 49 years; sons, Frank Piepho, Jr. of Augusta, Rick (Dee) Piepho of Newton; daughter, Ellen Piepho of Derby; brother, Larry (Grace) Piepho of Trezevant, TN; sisters, Catherine Poor of TX, Shirley (Jim) Hensley of Harlingen, TX, Melody (Jim) Harrington of Sedgwick, Elizabeth Piepho of Sedgwick; grandchildren, Bryan Fletcher, Jennifer Piepho, Francis Piepho III, Jim Antonowich, Nick Antonowich, A. J. Piepho, Bennett Piepho; 11 great grandchildren. Viewing: 1-8 Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009 with family present from 5-7pm. Service: Wednesday, 2pm, all at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Interment in El Paso Cemetery, Derby. Memorials to Ft. Dodge Soldiers Home.

The above is my sister, Sally A. ( Segelquist ) Piepho husband they lived in the Oakland community a number of years before his job took him away, he will truly be missed.

Leslie J. Poston, Oakland Kan., 48, a Topeka barber for the last twelve years died at his home, 508 Grattan Street, Sunday morning. He is survived by his widow Mrs. Ethel Poston; two sons, Odon Poston, Guthrie, Okla., and Billie of the home address; a daughter, Mrs. Loreta Hodges, Tulsa, Okla., a sister Mrs. Bessie Pickering, Fullerton, Calif., and two brothers Olnie Poston, Fullerton, Calif., and T, J. Poston, Lovell, Okla.
Funeral services will be at Conwell’s mortuary Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.
